Learn the basics of leather work and create your own traveler’s journal under the guidance of a leatherworker from Cumberland Heritage Village Museum. In this beginner leather course, we will create a hand stitched, leather bound journal with personalized embossed initials. Learn to layout, emboss, stitch, snap, set and rivet to create the heritage style traveler’s journal. These skills will help provide a foundation to inspire future projects at home. Supplies for this project are included in the cost of registration. Light refreshments will be served.

Makers at the Museum is a series hosted by the City of Ottawa Museums and Historic Sites that introduces participants to traditional handicrafts through beginner-friendly workshops led by skilled artisans.
