From Past to Present: Life in the Goulbourn Township

Hosted by: Goulbourn Museum

This interactive program teaches students about the early colonial settlement of the former Goulbourn Township. The program includes a discussion about the people who used the land before settlers arrived, who these early settlers were, why they came to the area, and what they did once they arrived. This is followed by a discussion about some of the lasting impacts of early settlement that are still seen in the community today (tackling the questions of “What is History?” and “Why is the past still important to us today?”) The presentation is followed by a hands-on activity (either an artefact guessing game for grades 1-3, or a settler “game of life” for grades 7-8)
