Laughy Taffy!

Hosted by: Vanier Museopark

Making maple syrup requires a good understanding of the sugar bush operation, accurate measurement of maple product refinement, and the execution of several manual tasks.

Show students the cycle of maple water from tree to table while making them aware of the realities and challenges associated with preserving the ecosystem of Richelieu Park’s heritage forest, where the main attraction is a unique urban sugar bush!

Stories and legends about the origin of maple syrup, the handling of artifacts, observations in nature, and an inference-based activity will help students discover that the charms and delights of maple syrup are not limited to tasting!
