Let’s go for a walk in the woods and discover the sugar shack! This activity takes place in the heritage forest of Richelieu Park where the main attraction is one of the rare urban sugar bushes in operation! Stories and legends about the origin of maple syrup, the handling of artifacts, observations in nature, and the development of a maple syrup production timeline will help students discover that the charms and delights of maple syrup are not limited to tasting!

  • Grade 2 – Science and Technology “Earth and Space Systems”: demonstrate an understanding of the ways in which air and water affect living things and are essential to their survival.
